Teaching Level 1 & 2 Coaching Courses

This course is designed for instructors with little to no archery experience assisting in established archery programs i.e., JOAD Programs, ASAP, Parks/Recreation, College Archery Programs. At the end of the course, you will be able to: Introduce basic shooting steps, discuss safety, range set-up, equipment setup and repair, fit equipment to an archer – both recurve and compound, learn how to teach National Training System (NTS) archery and how to teach a Basic Instructor Course.
Rich Cockrell is a top level (5) USA Archery coach and is the head coach of Rapids Archery JOAD. He coaches at USA Olympic Training Center Camps and has travelled with the USA team to archery tournaments around the world. Rich has authored two books on bow tuning.

Follow the link below to register for our weekend workshop with world-famous archery coach George Ryals August 12–14 at Rapids Archery Club. Topics include: the relationship between proper form and shot ex- ecution, troubleshooting common problems, release aid execution, practice techniques, the mental game, and much more. All participants will have an opportunity for one-on-one coaching from George.
George is the head coach of the ALC Hornets, an archery team that grew out of his JOAD archery program. The Hornets have won a Vegas championship and 26 national titles. GRIV won the 2014 USA Archery Developmental Coach Of The Year and most recently the USOC National Developmental Coach Of The Year. This award encompasses all Olympic sports, and it’s the rst time an archery coach has received the honor.

Volunteer for the 2015 National Senior Games! July 3 - 16, 2015
WHAT: The 2015 National Senior Games are looking for energetic, dedicated individuals who will volunteer for the 2015 National Senior Games. Bloomington, Minneapolis & Saint Paul will host approximately 13,000 athletes 50 years of age and better who will compete in 19 different sports.

The National Senior Games will be held in Bloomington, MN from July 3-16, 2015. Like any archery event volunteers are a crucial part of making a shoot happen. Please see the following request for Volunteers to assist with this great event.
