This is the fourth leg of the 2024 MAA Shooter of the Year competition. See themnaa.org/shooteroftheyear for more details.
Archers will shoot 14 field, 14 hunter, and 14 animal targets on Saturday or Sunday. Archers may choose to shoot either day or may shoot both days and use their highest daily score to count for awards. Standard NFAA divisions will apply. An NFAA membership is required to compete for awards or qualify for a state record.
The MAA is offering a “modern bowhunter” equipment class for this event for all age divisions again this year. The rules are the same as the standard NFAA bowhunter freestyle class except that movable sights are allowed. We hope this encourages bowhunters who are using newer, adjustable hunting sights the opportunity to try field archery.
Attention bowhunters! If you are a first-time participant at an MAA event, we’re offering a special $20 rate for guests in the modern bowhunter division. Shoot one or both days in the guest division for just $20.
A guest division will be provided. There will be no awards in the guest division, and all guests will compete together.
This event is being held jointly with our friends at the Minnesota State Archery Association and their State Field Championship. Participants are invited to shoot both events with the possibility of winning two state championships! The MSAA event requires a separate registration. Participants may participate in both events concurrently or one day for each event separately. Remember, if you shoot both days, your best day’s score will be used for awards.
